Peer Support
Peer Support is one of the 5 Core tenets of our work at Disability Network Mid-Michigan that builds community and changes lives. We connect individuals to build sustainable relationships and participate in skill-building experiences while spending quality time together and encouraging independence. We enjoy safe spaces where individuals can express themselves and build the confidence needed to enjoy independent living and community life.
Center for Independent Living
Disability Network Mid-Michigan is federally funded as a Center for Independent Living (CIL). One of the unique things about CILs is that at least 51% of our board and staff must be people with disabilities. Peer support is a hallmark of the Independent Living Movement and a core service, both in statute and philosophy. Opportunities are available virtually and in person.
